March 2023 has been the ‘month of big news’ with our first installation in Romania, a €6.45 million funding round closed, and new markets on the way. Last but not least, we are proud to announce that Roofit.Solar has been selected by Start-Up Energy Transition, one of the most prestigious energy events in Europe, as one of the 15 best energy and climate tech startups in the world at the SET Energy Festival 2023! Our innovative and classy integrated solar roofs were recognized in the category of Clean Energy and Energy Storage – we are thrilled to be among the finalists.

We are delighted to announce that Roofit.Solar has been selected as one of the top 15 clean energy startups in the world by Start-Up Energy Transition 2023. This shows us that our innovative approach to solar technology, which combines Nordic design principles with cutting-edge photovoltaic technology, is also gaining more attention from the European startup landscape as well as our growing number of clients across the continent.
About Start-Up Energy Transition
The Start-Up Energy Transition (SET) is an international platform supporting innovation in energy transition. The initiative is supported by the German Energy Agency (dena) and is comprised of start-ups, corporates, investors, and public organizations from around the world.
This year, over 400 startups applied for the competition, with only the top 15 being selected as finalists.
The 15 SET finalists, selected from over 400 applications and 63 countries in Spring 2023, presented their ideas to a jury of experts at the SET Tech Festival on March 28, 2023.

Did you know that in addition to 2023, we were also named in Start Up Energy Transition ‘s top 100 energy startups in the world for 2019 and 2021?
Roofit.Solar’s innovative solar roofs have already been recognised as one of the most environmentally friendly materials, as they are highly recyclable. Our 2-in-1 roofing solution generates electricity through a thin photovoltaic layer that covers the metal sheet, effectively replacing traditional solar panels. Our focus on Nordic design principles has led us to create solar roofs that are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. As a result, we reduce both environmental and visual pollution whether in a city centre or a suburban area.
We are proud to be among the finalists at the SET competition. The recognition we have received for our innovation in Clean Energy and Energy Storage validates the hard work and dedication of our team. We are committed to continuing to develop new technologies and solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future.

The SET Tech Festival 2023 took place on March 28, 2023, in Berlin, where we presented our innovative solar roofs to a global audience. There, we also had the opportunity to meet so many like-minded people who were interested in learning more about our both innovative and elegant solar roofs.
SET Tech Festival is a one-day event bringing together a global network of innovators shaping the future of energy. It features inspiring panels, workshops, and matchmaking sessions, as well as a dedicated SET exhibition area for start-ups to showcase their solutions.
This year, the event took place alongside the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD), an international conference organized by the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
The SET Tech festival and BETD participants came together at the Westhafen Event and Convention Center (WECC) in Berlin for the SET Award Ceremony, announcing the 2023 winners of the five SET Award categories.
