Role of the Jury and Evaluation process
The Jury evaluates the entries on the basis of the evaluation criteria and selects a shortlist (finalists) and winners for each Award. The shortlist of up to four finalists per Award, are companies that have shown they can make the environment one of their primary concerns while strengthening their competitiveness. From the shortlisted finalists, the jury panel designates one winner for each Award. All short-listed companies are promoted thoroughly during the ceremony and in the subsequent two years before the next Awards ceremony is held. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in November 2020 in Brussels.
The Product and Services Award
This Award is for the successful placing on the market of a new product or service that makes an outstanding contribution to sustainable development. The product or service may be a new or modified design, or the innovative application of an existing one, in a way that promotes more sustainable patterns of production and consumption or contributes to a sustainable circular economy. Applications for this Award should represent the ‘cutting edge’ of sustainable product and service development, setting an example for others to follow.
